On one of the sites where I was selling them, I noticed that they were offering paid video chat with clients as well as the chance to sell videos. My very first webcam session was a one-on-one with a client. It was very nerve-wracking because I had no idea what he really wanted to see. I didn’t know how to position myself properly, what to do, etc. I was hesitant and clumsy and it was a total mess.

You can use a fake name or a nickname, you can wear a mask or makeup, but no matter what you do, there’s always a risk that someone recognizes you. If you’re not comfortable being nude and doing this kind of job, don’t do it. 
If you want to be a successful camgirl and earn a good living, you must promote yourself to the point where everyone can see you. Visibility is the key to success and to popularity. If you fear being seen, you’ll never be successful in this industry, and in this case it’s not worth it. Once you’ve understood this, do some research and educate yourself. There are many forums for webcam models where you can learn everything you need to know. Once you have a good understanding of how it all works and you have decided to join the adventure, get started and put as many hours as you can into your work.
